When refering to gristmills or flour mills horizontal refers to the position of the main axle or the waterwheel. A vertical waterwheel with water flowing over the top (overshot) would have a horizontal axle. Some primitive waterwheels and more modern turbines have the waterwheel or "runner" laying horizontal, on it's side (imagine a ceiling fan mounted on a floor) the axle would then be vertical.
A vertical mill is the same as an vertical integration mill. It is built vertical, not horizontal.
I assume you are not referring to a specific mill despite the definite article! A "mill engine" - honestly! That is what they are called, and are usually long-stroke horizontal engines.
Universal rolling mill - Yushun factory direct supply The profile mill consists of a pair of horizontal rolls and a pair of vertical rolls and the axis of the rolls is in the same vertical plane. Vertical rolls can be active rolls, but also passive rolls, but to ensure that the roll surface line speed and horizontal rolls in line. In the universal mill (called the main machine) after or before often set up a two-roller horizontal mill, as an auxiliary forming frame (i.e., rolling edge end machine), the main and auxiliary machines are reversible mills, in the rolling process to form a continuous rolling.
It is called a horizontal line!
