Well you should have known by the time you read this but if you don't... you simpily pull them out. Like this grab the end of the earring, and hold the head so when you pull it doesn't all get pulled. Now, move the hand that is holding the earring away from the head. That is how you do it.

If you have the american girl earrings and the ears are pierced then you put the earring in the hole and push it in. You can get the ears pierced by sending your doll to the doll hospitial from home, go the doll hair salon at an american girl store, or ordering the add on when you get the doll. The earrings are avalible online and in store. To take them off you may have to use plyers.

No, they are like human earrings. To take it out you pull hard and put in a new one. They don't have backs though, they are tight enough to stay in through play.
