A 1975 Cabbage Patch Kid does not exist.

The Cabbage Patch Kids were originally called Little People and were completely handmade, unlike the Cabbage Patch Kids we know today, which are mass produced with vinyl heads. Although Xavier Roberts, the creator of this iconic brand, may have dabbled in soft sculpture in 1975, these are his own private creations. He has identified a few unmarked Little People from 1976 and 1977 as his own, but the first labeled and "adopted" Little People are from 1977/1978. The brand was not renamed Cabbage Patch Kids until 1982.

They came out, and hit boom status for a while in l987. Originator was a man named Xavier Roberts. They were marketed by Coleco who was better known for pools and later Video Games ( Number 1 in electronic Fun) went their commercials. The idea of a low-patterned (trash love) doll is not new. Possibly the originals were Raggedy Ann and Andy who in the cartoon story- were rejects from a toy company that were not intended to come off the production Line! The Underdog concept is negative and really should not be applied to dolls. Even Freud recognized a natural drive and draw to Schonheit- Beauty.
