Well when your Tamogatchi grows into an adult, it will ask, "Do you want to mate your Tamogatchi?". If you want to mate it, select yes. If not, you will simply go back to caring for it as you usually did.

Ahh, very nice question. I can only tell you what I know from v5, but it might be useful for other versions too, mind you. So anyway back on topic. You see, there are 2 ways a tama can get married. If you want to mate one family with another, the 2 families must get to know each other first. You must connect and let them play games with each other, a bunch of times, and then once they're on the Best Friends level (if you view your friends, scroll to the family that you're wishing to mate with, and then press the middle button, well, you'll know it when you see it: it's very distinctive.) then they will fall in love and they will marry.( there is a cute kissing animation when they get married, it's pretty cute, check it out!) If they are any less than Best Friends, than the tamas will shake their heads and refuse. The other way, also known as the easier way, is the dating show. All you have to do is go on, select the chosen character, and the matchmaker, Ms. Busybody, will present your tama with a mate. If you like the guy/girl, then click marry! if not, then you have 2 more chances. But don't worry! If you use up all your chances, then just set the time to 6:59AM(or in Europe, just 6:59) and wait 1 minute until your tamas wake up. Then you have 3 more chances at getting a good guy/girl! This cheat works every time please do try it out! Once you mate, the tamas will become parents and lay eggs together that soon become babies. Hope I have helped, please rate and recommend!
