Shukra
You say in Arabic "Shukran" or "Jazaka Allah Khairan"
Muslims in your area likely speak the same language that you do. You can say thank you to them in exactly the same way that you say "thank you" to Non-Muslims. While Arabic is the holy language of Islam, most Muslims do not speak or understand Arabic, so saying "shukran" - Arabic for "thank you" - is more counterproductive than useful.
Kind sir, Islam is not a country. Thank you for your ignorance. Sincerely, Amanda
