The three W's—wisdom, wealth, and worth—manifested when Charles received his gifts by showcasing the thoughtful intentions behind each present. The wisdom was evident in the meaningful choices of gifts that reflected his character and aspirations. Wealth was symbolized by the richness of the relationships and experiences shared with him, rather than material riches alone. Finally, his worth was affirmed through the love and respect that the givers demonstrated, highlighting his significance in their lives.
The phrase comes from the three wise men bringing gifts to Jesus.
the three wisemen
The phrase "kings bearing gifts come from afar" refers to the biblical account of the Magi, or Wise Men, who traveled to visit the newborn Jesus. Traditionally, it is said that there were three Magi, often named Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar, each bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. However, the Bible does not specify the number of Magi, so the idea of three is based on the three gifts mentioned.
In Syria children's gifts come from the youngest camel on January 6th, which is Three Kings Day. In Spanish speaking countries such as Mexico, Puerto Rico, Argentina , Brazil, the Philippines and Spain, the Three Kings, themselves, give the gifts to the children.
Gold, frankincense and myrhh were very costly and hard to come by, so these were probably the most valuable things that could be given as gifts at that time.

This tradition is said to be based on the generousity and kindness of the three kings, or three wise men, who visited the Christ child and brought him valuable gifts. Afterward, they bravely defied King Herod and did not return to him to let him know the location of the Holy Family.

Read Matthew chapter 2...The actual answer is no one really knows how many there were of the wise men or their companions for their numbering is not written. Its been considered for many decades that the number of gifts represent the number of wise men (three gifts), however that is conjecture.
