Hard question too answer considering I can hardly comprehend something like 3 or 4 hundred years. If you skipped everyday of the year except your birthday even if you had 365 birthdays (a years worth of constant celebration) youd only be 365 years into the future. So really it's almost immpossible to comprehend a billion years.

But if your really want to get an idea of a billion years wear a clock or watch around your neck to measure your personal time relative to the outside world (around your wrist doesn't work srry). Then once you've got your measuring device try reading something like War and Peace and then writing an analytical essay about the author's use of rhetorical devices. You should find that because of the boredom your personal time has slowed. Depending on the length of the essay you wrote(3-5 pages?) and your reading speed(100-200wpm) this method could provide as much as 700 million years of experience! Use your personal time measurement device to keep track of your years(be sure to bring extra batteries if needed). You can try this method on something a bit shorter to acheive the remaining 300 million years of experience. you'll then have a good idea of how long a billion years is! Good luck!
