Assuming you mean "edge" pieces, that the puzzle is rectangular, and that you count the corners as "edge" pieces:

If the puzzle is:

2x375 (extremely unlikely) you would have 750 edge pieces

3x250 (extremely unlikely) you would have 502 edge pieces

5x150 (extremely unlikely) you would have 306 edge pieces

6x125 (extremely unlikely) you would have 258 edge pieces

10x75 (very unlikely) you would have 166 edge pieces

15x50 (possible but unlikely) you would have 126 edge pieces

25x30 (likely) you would have 106 edge pieces

The formula for finding the edge pieces in a puzzle that is LxH in dimensions is

2(L-2) + 2H or 2L + 2(H-2)

It doesn't matter which formula you use since the choice of which side is L and which side is H is arbitrary.

If you don't count corners as edge pieces, subtract 4 from each of the numbers above.
