non you have to buy a separate memory cartrage or harddrive that can go anywhere between $20.00 to $300.00. my best bet is on the elite package. trust me its worth the money to buy the best bcus youll spend more money tryin to upgrade the arcade. i mmade taht mistake and thank target i got my money back. all in all arcade is a rip off get the elite! ;)
No you can not have xbox live without a hardrive on the arcade system and this isn't all bad news you can purchease a hardrive to insert on the top of your arcade unit this will run you about 100 dollars you can get this at any Walmart target or GameStop

xbox's come with hard drives. the only one that doesn't would be the arcade version which is 200 dollars
