yep but you have to use the articlte 'the' The girl is like a car
very good
This phrase is neither a simile or metaphor, it is pesonification. if you want a simile you might say...The car was roaring like a cat. or a metaphor...the roaring car was a cat
A simile is the comparison of something to another thing using the words 'like' or 'as'. That car is like a screaming metal death trap!
The car lurched forward like a startled animal.
A simile for increase, or/and increasing could be like "A race car on a speed track." Or "A wolf hunting down prey."
The car sped around the track like a firefly on a summer night.
The word that uses like or as is a simile. a simile is used to compare things that are alike. This is why it uses like or as in its sentence. example: The girl ran faster than a speed of lightening. The comparison in the sentence is the girl and the speed of lightening. The sentence was trying to justify that the girl ran very fast.
A simile.
A metaphor
The girl was as speedy as a cheetah.
It would be more appropriately phrased as "the car was as fast as a horse".
An example of a simile is, 'The girl was slow as molasses.'
