A Tyee is a term used primarily in the Pacific Northwest of North America, referring to a large Chinook salmon, particularly one that weighs over 30 pounds. The term is also used to describe a specific type of fishing, often associated with trophy fishing for these sizable salmon. In a broader cultural context, "Tyee" can signify a chief or leader among Indigenous peoples in the region. The word reflects both the significance of the fish in local ecosystems and the cultural heritage tied to fishing practices.
The Tyee was created in 2003-11.

The 1999 Lund 1850 Tyee Gran Sport boat has a fuel capacity of approximately 55 gallons. This capacity allows for extended outings on the water, making it suitable for both fishing and recreational activities. Always refer to the owner's manual for the most accurate specifications and details.
A slightly earlier model Lund Tyee 1850 with 150 Horse outboard weighs about 5000 on a trailer (empty) with fuel and gear that can easily add another 1000lbs... I would say that a 3.3l is probably pretty underpowered for it.

Each Chinook village had a headman, or chief. He (or she) was made leader because everyone in the village respected him. A famous chief was Chief Concomly (1754 - 1830). He lived on the Columbia River at the present day Fort Columbia, across from Astoria, Oregon. He is the most famous chief because of his location near the mouth of the Columbia River and he met most, if not all, of the traders from around the world and was the first Chinook headman they met.
