Newspaper reports were sent back home talking about the victories the soldiers had overcome therefore the families morale was up. However, these newspaper reports were usually untrue because if they revealed the true horrors of the war, the families would be furious, and demand the war to be ended. Furthermore, this would escalate so badly that the families who work to make the uniforms, boots and guns would strike. Newspapers such as, 'The Times' would report untrue facts and over exaggerated victories. Resources - My Year 9 History Teacher !!
