Rowland also noticed that the only dolls available to play with were the adult Barbie (that was not appropriate for young girls to play with) and baby dolls...so another reason to make American Girl Dolls...But the company was then bought by Mattel (Ironically the same people that produce Barbie) and it's now a money making business that promotes cheaply made dolls that are "Just Like You." i also love American girl. I personally think that American Girl is genius because little girls listen to these dolls and it teaches them history:)=
