As of April 2010, the Esprit model is extremely rare because Breyer is having problems making/carving his mane and tail, and painting him. And on top of that, he is this year's FEI model; which makes him even rarer and more valuable.
There aren't really any "rare" models, except Special Runs, and Limited Runs of course. Breyerfest models are rare as well, as they are only available at Breyerfest, and afterwards, they are not produced anymore.
Extremely rare Breyer models include the "Ballet Horse," produced in 1959, and the "Old Timer," released in 1970. Other notable rarities are the "Hollyhock" and the "Giraffe," both of which had limited production runs. Additionally, special editions and models from the 1960s and 1970s, such as the "Bobby" and "Darla," can also command high prices among collectors due to their scarcity.
The rarest breyer model would probably be Trigger, he was owned by Roy Rogers. He was one of the first breyer models. Check on ebay!
Breyer
Only nationally or world-famous horses are made into Breyer models. Once a horse reaches that level, Breyer may choose to consider it :)
There are many Breyer traditional horses. Breyer traditional horses are tiny models of horses that are typically used by young children as special toys.
I have noticed pn the models I have from when breyer first started, they don't have the breyer/breyer reeves stamp but do have a stamp saying the conrty (MIne say USA on the top of the leg). Hope this helps.
Breyer Horses are extremely detailed and realistic model horses made out of a combination of plastic and resin material. Breyer has been producing model horses since 1950, so about 50 years! Breyer has hundreds of models, in different sizes and molds. Each one is hand carved and hand painted, giving it a value of about $50, depending on the size. There are Traditionals (1:9 scale), Classics (1:12 scale), Paddock Pals, Stablemates, and Mini Whinnies. However, it is impossible to thoroughly describe all the features Breyer horses offer in this answer. To find out more, see the related links section below to go to Breyer's website!

Toy horses. Breyer horses have been around since the 1950s. Breyer also makes models of other animals, but horses seem to be the most popular. Collectors on eBay purchase them often.
The value of a Breyer horse model can decrease significantly once it is opened, often losing around 20-50% of its retail value, depending on factors like rarity and condition. Limited editions or rare models may retain more value even when opened if they are well cared for. Collectors generally prefer models to be in their original packaging, as this preserves their condition and collectible appeal.
