There are approximately four billion Caucasians in the world. Of these four billion Caucasians, approximately two and a half billion would be labeled as "white" (this includes people of European background, which includes most Latinos), approximately one billion would be labeled as Indian, and approximately half a billion would be labeled as Arab.

This means that whites are the majority of the Caucasian race. Whites account for about 62% of the Caucasian race, Indians account for about 26% of the Caucasian race, and Arabs account for about 12% of the Caucasian race. Of the two and a half billion whites, approximately 1.40 billion are of Latino origin, meaning Latinos actually form the majority of the whites.

Typically in the United States, the term "Caucasian" is simply a nicer way of saying "White" and both terms refer to people of European ancestry. There is a debate over whether these terms also encompass Hispanic People who do not have obvious Indigenous features, but this goes for both terms.

The only distinction between "White" and "Caucasian" is that "Caucasian" has the secondary use of referring to the roughly 20 million people from the Caucasus mountain region (southern Russia, Georgia (EURASIA), Armenia, and Azerbaijan).

In contrast to some views, Asian Indians are not usually considered to be Caucasian, there is significant dispute as to whether Hispanics/Latinos are considered to be Caucasian, and while the US Census Bureau considers Arabs and similar MENA peoples to be White/Caucasian, this is also highly debated.
