The book "50 years on the Liffey" published by the ESB committee has the following Info.

Tragedy on Site.

"I can recall six deaths on the job. There was a man from Hollywood killed when a skip fell on him. Another man called Kavanagh from Monasterevin was killed when a rock was blasted into the air and came through the shelter where he was taking refuge. There was a man called Cross died when his leg was taken off by a lump of rock on the far side of the dam. Then a carpenter, Jeremiah Tierney fell into an excavation from a ladder and drowned. There was a young fellow from Tipperary also died, I cant remember his name. Another carpenter, Bill Carbury from Athy, was killed when he fell 26 feet from a crane over the loading bay at the station. I remember it well."
