There are still 100% full-blooded Australian Aborigines alive today. Some live in small outback communities; others, still full-blooded, work at full-time jobs in cities and towns. Full-blooded Aborigines have not been required to state their degree of Aboriginal descent in censuses since 1971, but this does not mean there are none. Figures at the last censuses which did count degree of aboriginal descent varied between 40,000 and 80,000.
