You mean like fairies and goblins? Yes, such creatures "exist" within Mexican legend. Some of them include:

The Nahual, a Native American shaman that could transform him/herself to diverse animals and natural elements (i.e. wolves, bears, wind, water). Sometimes, these transformations were not well intentioned.

The Ahuizotl, a dangerous dog-like, monkey-handed creature that lives on ponds and rivers, grabing unsuspecting victims with its tail to drown them.

The Alux, the Mayan equivalent to Germanic goblins.
