Yes, there are. I would say that there's a protest every week with a real major protest of 100,000 persons and above every year. Most of them regarding economical issues, such as budget cuts and labour strikes, with people wishing for a more socialist policy. When there's a major security event eg the flotilla raid or Operation Cast Lead people strike the street to support or condome the government handling.
