France colonized three Asian countries completely: Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. France maintained mandates in the current countries of Lebanon and Syria (part of which is now in Turkey). France also had smaller colonies in India, such as Pondicherry, and a large sphere of influence in China.
About 150 years ago, after becoming free from turkey, another country came(France) wich took over Lebanon making it colonized instead of gaining its independence. It became an independent country in 1943 when the French left and still is to this day.

The answer you are looking for is "France", but that is technically incorrect. Lebanon was a part of the Wilayet/Province of Beirut in the Ottoman Empire until it became a French Mandate in 1919. As opposed to a colony, the intent of forming a mandate was to "help a territory develop to the point where it would be capable of self-governance" whereas a colony was supposed to be occupied perpetually. Understandably, the Lebanese and the French disagreed about when Lebanon would be ready for French withdrawal.
France, in 1922.
