The early native Americans in the area that later became Nevada did not use hieroglyphs, but they did carve petroglyphs - pictures cut into stone. Examples are found on a rock at Carson river, about 8 miles below Old Fort Churchill. These include strange human figures and animals made up of connected circles, no doubt with some religious significance.

Petroglyphs are not hieroglyphs - they do not record language.
