No Way, Christmas is bigger here than in the US, commercially wise, since they don't celebrate Thanksgiving, the xmas decorations go up after Halloween. Since the religion is buddist or Shinto they totally take the Jesus perspective out of the equation and only use the day for consumerism.

Christmas in not generally celebrated in Japan. While there are Christians in Japan, there are no specifically Japanese traditions associated with Christmas, as it is not a local custom or event. Christmas is not a holiday in Japan. Some large Japanese shops are promoting Christmas and decorating for Christmas but this is purely for marketing reasons.
Christians in Japan celebrate Christmas in much the same manner as it is celebrated in the west, and non-Christian Japanese do not practice Christmas.
