By the port, I assume you mean where the airport and cruise docks are located? It's about a 20-30 minute water taxi ride into the mainland of Venice, which is where the Principe Hotel is. You can pay double the price for an express water taxi, but they are only about 5 to 10 minutes quicker than the normal taxis. Not worth it, in my opinion.
What do you mean by "Venice Port". The main Venice station (Santa Lucia) is about 20 metres in front of the main canal.
