The above is ridiculous... Goats do like people. As long as the people treat them kindly, goats can be excellent pets. One of my goats is much like having another dog. He loves to go for walks and will often "ask" to be petted by gently bumping our hands with his head. He has seen me shoot old and sick goats (to put them out of their misery as they were too far gone to be saved) and seems to hold no grudge. It's an unfortunate aspect of farming, but necessary if you intend to provide your animal with a humane and dignified passing.
