Robert Scott was a British Royal Navy officer and explorer who led an ill-fated expedition to the South Pole in 1910-1912. The expedition, known as the Terra Nova Expedition, aimed to be the first to reach the South Pole, but tragically Scott and his team perished on their return journey.
