Do not force them they can do it there self when they want to
Yes parakeets from pet stores such as pet smart and petco can breed and produce offspring. It is just a bit harder to do. To breed them, give them lots of sunlight for at least 10 hours a day. Then, make sure you have a male and a female. Then, make sure you give them a nesting box with wood shavings etc. for them to use as nesting material. To get them to go into the nesting box make sure you have treats around or inside it to lure them into it. Once they feel comfortable with the nesting box, they will breed and have babies. Please note that breeding parakeets can go wrong in many ways.. Even the parents can die if something goes wrong. Please have a certified Avian veterinarian that you can talk to commonly for questions and help if something were to go wrong. - hope this helped!
I made my nesting box earlier today and my parakeets love it. This is what I did: 1: Get a box with some sort of lid. (A 6 by 6 box is a good size for parakeets) 2: Get a knife and cut a 2 diameter hole right underneath the lid. Then, get some duct tape and tape down the sides of the lid. Make sure the tape is smooth so they dont peck at it. 3: Make some small holes in the back of the box so you can look in a the parakeet without disturbing it. 4: Get some materials for the inside of the nest. I used dead grass, but some of the other things you could use are hay or shredded newspaper. DONT use cotton because once the eggs are laid, the parakeets may not be able to find them. 5: Put the nesting box low in the cage. (I duct taped mine to the bars of the cage.) 6: Spread some of the materials you used for inside of the nesting box onto the floor of the cage and on top of the nesting box. They might want to feel like they sort of built it themselves. 7: Put some treats like mullet on top of the box and halfway sticking out of the hole. Theyll discover it on the top, and when theyre done with the mullet on top of the box, theyll go to the one sticking halfway out of the hole. Once they're done with the half thats sticking out, theyll have to go inside the box to get the rest of it. Hope this helped! And remember, even though mine got in theirs right away, yours might wait a few days, or possibly a few weeks. :/ They'll probably be nervous and scared for awhile, but they'll grt brave and eventually go inside.
A parakeet nesting box is a box (most commonly made of wood, but also found in cardboard) that parakeet breeders use to replicate a tree cavity where parakeets naturally raise their young. Parakeet (or budgie) nesting boxes should be at least 6" wide x 7" deep x 7" tall (at least), though many breeders recommend wider boxes with the entry hole set off to one side so the parent birds don't crush the eggs when they enter. The entry hole prefered by parakeets in the wild is approximately 1.5" in diameter.
why does parakeets go in circiles
You can actually build your own chicken nesting boxes. It's pretty simple. I would go to any home improvement store and get some wood. All it really is like a wooden box with something soft on the inside.
This is typical pre-nesting behaviour. The budgies, in particular the female, are preparing the nesting box for nesting. Some pairs of budgies never successfully breed, but they still display all the signs and behaviour of wanting to nest.
DO NOT remove the nesting box at all for at least 4 weeks after the litter of babies has been born. It is very important to keep the nesting box as untouched as possible until at least 4 weeks! Though the babies are out and about they will still spend much time cuddling inside (though they won't always) You may not see them in it much during the day but it is very important for them at night and is very important to stay untouched for it is where the mother will go to feed them until they are weened at 6-8 weeks
by jumping up inside the box.
Go to your nearest bird or pet store and get a nesting or breeding box then get some shredded material, pine not cedar! But this is only surface info please please go and find more information on nesting cockatiel websites.
yes they can
First you make a box then you draw a circle inside the box and there you go
