As the human population increased over 10,000 years ago, some people had to move away from their ancestral homes because there were not enough resources for everyone to stay put. Eventually some of these hunter gatherers ended up arriving at the Bering Land Bridge. They then crossed it, and ended up populating North and then South America. These people were the ancestors of the Native Americans.
