How are elderly treated in Germany?

A. Seniors are not held in high esteem

B. Seniors typically have such small retirement income that they are quite limited in financial choices.

C. Socially, however, there are quite a few options, more than in most societies.

D. With the socialized medicine options, care is affordable, but there are limits as to what procedures will be performed. Once certain quotas are met, then you are out of luck. Not a nice situation, if you are desperately in need of surgery, and the powers that be decide that this procedure would be too expensive.

All that to say, seniors are viewed as expendable.
