Depending on the type of 'waste', some of which is recycled, temporary Antarctic residents are known to be resourceful.
For example, some scientific models become wall art, some colourful brochures become wallpaper, clothing that may not fit a departing worker's next port of call is left in a Skua Pile, for another human to adopt and use there.

Usually, people print on both sides of paper, and otherwise work to minimize human impact.

There are no re-cycle facilities on the continent, but re-cycle-able materials can be sent back to the home country for processing.
