The area around the Pakistan Afganistan border is one affected by the Taliban, but the Taliban does not actually control any part of Pakistan. Pakistan has complete control over it's country, but it is fighting against the Taliban who are trying to gain control.

not much, not often, and not eagerly. There wasn't much for Hussein to gain from an alliance, and the Taliban would regard such a man as unclean. Hussein and Bush however.... pity the deal went sour.

The Taliban enforced their rules because they honestly believed that the creation of that type of theocratic totalitarianism was what God demanded of humanity. They also used their rules in order to gain control and maintain order as well as fear.

The Taliban only invaded because Al Qaeda was based in Afghanistan. In fact, the Taliban never wanted war with the U.S., but Al Qaeda did, so they provoked us into invading with 9/11. So when we invaded, the Taliban had no choice but to fight us. In order to get the upper hand, we allied with the Northern Alliance (they're the current govt. in Afghanistan. Then the Taliban made themselves disappear for a few years (don't ask me how) and now they fight so they can gain control of Afghanistan.
