The African slave trade began around 1440. European countries shipped goods to African rulers who traded for slaves to be sent to the American continent. From America, slave-produced goods such as cotton, rum and molasses were shipped to Europe, completing this slave triangle. This continued into the 1700s.
Most of the slaves that were brought to the New World, or the Americas, were from the continent of Africa. They were either sold by African chief or Arab slave traders to Portuguese or Spanish slave traders. More specifically, West Africa is where most of the slaves had previously lived. The slave trade was very popular and prosperous for slave traders. The first nation to profit on slaves was Portugal.
They were mainly from the European countries because they were advanced in ship technology.

Texas was a slave holding Republic and would become a slave holding state.
During the slave days there was a triangle of goods being shipped. Europe shipped weapons to Africa, Africa shipped slaves to America, ans America shipped sugar to Europe. On one of the gun runs a European captain caught smallpox and brought it back with him.
The Slaves initially arrived in the Americas because of the slave triangle, this was where the Europeans, travelled to Africa and took the Slaves to America, after which they returned to Europe completing the triangle.
Slavery in Europe goes back thousands of year and without a time machine you would have a very hard time finding the first slave in Europe or for that matter the first non European slave to enter Europe.
