it was first named as Golconda during shahis dynasty then the ruler at that time Md. Quli Qutub Shah fell in love with a girl named Bhagumati so he named it as BHAGYANAGAR then after marriage she changed her name to HAIDER MAHAL so then it was changed to HYDERABAD.
