In the bush they would forage for different plants, witchetty grubs and honey ants.

Sugar and Honey
They live in the south eastern dessert in Australia!
They will eat anything sweet.
Ants are pests which survive on anything that has nutrition. so yes, if it just on the floor but normally they probably wouldn't eat a banana
No, because that would taste plain disgusting.
honey ants do lay eggs
Technically, in some way some ants do puke. Honey ants, which store honey for the rest of the colony, regurgitate honey to feed the other worker ants. Regular worker ants, carpenter ants, and multiple other kinds of ants do not puke.
Kangaroo, wallaby, snake, goanna, possum, fish, turtle, honey ants, witchety grubs. Remember they didn't always live completely in the desert. Many aboriginal clans lived in the fertile lands near the coast where the big cities are today.
