First you have to wait until the position is open. Until then you can go around shouting "I am God! Pray to me! Bow down before me! Worship me, I command you!" This may be about as close as you can get. It will certainly get the attention a god should get. Except in New York City, where you will be ignored. I recommend downtown Los Angeles, where you will soon gain a following. This will also work almost anywhere. Soon you will reap the benefits of being a god, with attendants and all your needs provided. Note: Please do not do this in my neighborhood, however; I am trying to sell my house.

To become godly, you must confess your sins and ask Jesus Christ to come and live in your heart. Upon doing that, He will give you a new heart. Next, you must read The Bible because God placed all instruction for humankind in the Bible. Every day, God will teach you new lessons through reading the Bible and by bringing circumstances into your life that will make you a godly person and help conform you into a person who is more and more like Jesus.

Most people believe that we cannot become gods. A few religions teach that we can become like God, being literally his children, but even those predict that we will achieve that level well after death. For those, living like God is the path to becoming like God.
