There are 60 Navy Lodges in the United States of America. Worldwide, there exists 74 total Navy Lodges. That equates to fourteen outside of the United States.
The first Masonic lodge in the Philippines, Primera Luz Filipina, was established by Spanish Navy Captain Jose Malcampo y Monge in 1856.
At first it was known as Staten Land, by Tasman, for he believed it was connected to S America. Then it was named as Nieuw Zeeland after a region on Holland. This name was transcribed on the Royal Navy maps as New Zealand. Zeeland of course means sea land = island in the sea.
