It takes alot of practice.
Sounds like you don't have one It's like telling someone who traveled to Chicago who is in New York with a New York accent telling them "You have a New York accent. Cool" They will be like "What? New York accent?" Then they will say "Well, you have a Chicago accent." Thats me! 👍🏼(me) I will say "What? Chicago accent? Accents? I don't have an accent at all" The people in New York will say "Me neither!"
Michael Collins was born in Cork, Ireland, and despite having lived in London and New York, one assumes he retained his Irish accent.
yes
New Jersey people don't have a change of accent, it's a regular American accent. And yes i know this because i live in New Jersey.
if you mean that Italian kind of New York accent, watch the Sopranos a lotWatch the show "King of Queens" the main characters on that show speak a perfect New York accent.Actually Sopranos has more of a Jersey accent than New York, there are subtle differences. Jerseyites say "You's guys" and New Yorkers really don't say it.I wouldn't recommend doing an accent based off of King of Queens. Mostly because a Queens accent and even a standard New York accent aren't the same as a Bronx accent. There is a website called ehow.com and I believe they have samples of people from the Bronx speaking. Great to listen to and pick up some of the accent. You may also want to try getting accent tapes at the library as well as books so you can phonetically mark your script and learn the words in the way they would be spoken as opposed to memorizing and then going back to fix accent. There is a series called "Acting with an Accent" but I believe they only have New York, it's a start! There is also a book called, "A Guide to American Dialects" that gives great pronunciation tips and ways to mark your script.
Since Bugs Bunny has a New York accent we presume he has grown up in New York .

The Vatican is its own nation, but wholly inside Italy (the nation itself is about the size of New York's Central Park). Local residents generally speak Italian and therefore have the same accent. Church officials, of course, will have an accent that corresponds to their nation of origin, which could be anywhere in Christendom.

Well, if they are from New Jersey or have close influences (parents, teachers, relatives, ect.) who have such an accent, then the little kid is likely just to pick it up as they learn to speak. Otherwise, if there is a speech impediment, some words or sounds may come out a bit off-sounding, giving hte sense that there is an accent behind them. _________________________________________________________________ Different answer: There is no such thing as a New Jersey accent. I hate it when people think that. theres a western accent, Boston accent, or a Brooklyn accent. No New Jersey accent, that's a rumor because of the show The Jersey Shore.
