Piranhas don't technically reproduce, they spawn.
but anyways, the piranhas spawn by the female laying around 6000 eggs and the male fertilizing her eggs. Before the eggs will hatch brood (Baby Pirahnas) the male piranha will be very territorial, and can kill the female, at this time you should separate the fish (separate tanks or tank seperators) or remove both from the tank until the brood are larger. I have NEVER spawned piranhas before but i am trying so i don't know if the adult pirahnas will kill the brood or eat them as food. SO BE CAUTIOUS OR WATCH THEM!
good luck!
Two comments: Piranhas are sexual--they have to mate (in piranha the female lays eggs on the river bottom and the male swims over them to fertilize them) to reproduce. To reproduce asexually, piranhas would have to divide, which they don't do. The other comment...piranha live in the Amazon, which is a freshwater river.
There have been five movies with piranha in the title: Piranha (1972), Piranha (1978), Piranha Part Two: The Spawning (1981), Piranha (1995) TV, and Piranha (2010)

Growth and development for a Piranha is when a Piranha gets horny and breeds/mates with another Piranha and they blow up out of nowhere?
