A religion is an important basis for culture. A superseded religion (which we call mythology) has still been a religion.

We can quote many examples from analysis of mythologies from oldest prehistoric civilizations. The Egyptian and Mesopotamia and Kot Diji Culture of Pre- Harappan culture in South Asian Indus Valley followed similar mythology of burials scarifies and similar culture got evolved. We find different mythology in Matured Harappan Civilization 1900-1300 BC. having sun cult and different culture of global trading.
