You are generally placed by level, last name, and height. After waiting in a studio, you are brought up to the Grand Studio where a panel of judges sit in the back. You are split up into groups and then asked to do a small dance (usually from one of the roles your age/level group may get) Then, if you are lucky, you get a callback! This makes you audition for a particular role the artistic staff choose for you. I can mostly guess what they are having me do...... But, anyway, its quite simple!
Because it's about a girl getting a nutcracker as a Christmas present. Clara and the nutcracker go through snow
You can audition by sending a video/dvd of your dancing. Go to The Rolal Ballet School website and follow the prompts for international auditions.
Depends on the Nutcracker you go to. Commonly there is only one but it is also common to have multiple. Definitely no more than 12 heads.
you go to Boston every January to audition.
Go on line and see if they do auditions in South Africa. Otherwise you may have to send them a DVD of you dancing, or go to the Royal Ballet school in London.
The Story of Ballet: Ballet emerged in the Italian Renaissance court in the late 15th century... The Dance then traveled to France in the 17th century at the time of King Louis the 14th... afterwards ballet went to Russia and Denmark in 1850... Much after in the 20th century ballet is still performed with a strong influence on the population of the globe... Unless you are French, or are very very exceptional at ballet, it is difficult to audition for this school. The French are very select with how many foreigners take part in their system. Winning a major competition will help. It has to be a world wide comp though.
you go to they royal ballet website click on auditions click on the place near you print application of when you have done it and filled it in they will send you a letter back saying when audition is but they look for certin things so your not forced to get in
There's a bunch. Mostly everyone has either seen, heard of, or heard the familiar music of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker. There's also Swan Lake, Coppelia, Don Quixote, Giselle...I'd probably go with Nutcracker or Swan Lake, though.

well, it depends on how good you are. There are many requirement, are you taking at a classical ballet school? how many days a week are you taking ballet? are you on pointe? how long? also, how serious are you about ballet? You have to be strong enough to take many classes a day. I have gone to Boston Ballet SDP for the past two years. I had 4, 5 classes a day, many of them on pointe.
