Also keep in mind that time of year can make a big difference to travel times. Although the roads are all generally well maintained, it is still mostly single-lane in each direction -- and with a lot of extremely hilly terrain, it can be difficult to safely pass trucks or other slow moving vehicles. If travelling between approx. mid-May to mid-September (particularly on a weekend) you will be sharing these small highways and roads with thousands of other vehicles heading to camps, resorts and cottages.
