How many piranha's would it take to eat a human?

A single piranha can not eat something the size of a human. It would take concidering the type and size quite many. the smallest pirahnas wich are the silver red bellied piranhas in a group of 500 could devoure something that size in aproximately ten minutes.

In Piranha attack, they take bites each from different parts one after the other until they are full or the prey it totally devoured. Only bones are left in most cases.

Piranha attacks are more frequent on humans now a day since in south America, a lot of dams have been built. the flooding gives them larger areas for nesting and that is the reason why. They are now bigger in numbers.

Normally piranhas dont go after humans. However, you could lose a hand or toe if you go into piranha infested waters but only in South America as far as i know. Most of the things people see on TV about piranhas besides Nat'l Geographic and Animal Planet, its pretty much fiction. Piranhas got their name from Teddy Roosevelt, locals dumped starving piranhas in the Amazon Tributary when he visited and fed them chopped cow meat, which made them go into a feeding frenzy.
