How long has Belarus been a country?

It's hard to answer this question, as attitudes are coloured by nationalism. The term (in various transliterations and translations) has been in use since the 1800s or earlier, but the area referred to wasn't always well defined. Since the Balkans have started they ruled the whole Balkans from Kosovo threw Turkey and part of Russia. Serbs are from Russia that's where there root's come but a large tripe had moved to open land in Europe which was Bosnia and Serbia.

The parliament of the republic declared the sovereignty of Belarus on 27 July 1990, and during the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Belarus declared independence on 25 August 1991.
