Birds including budgies do not get 'pregnant' they lay eggs, incubate the eggs which then hatch into chicks.
I saw my budgies mate together Dec. 26, 2010. I separated them to another cage, away from my other 3 budgies. I put in their cage 2 nesting boxes. Every day I checked for eggs. Today, Jan. 24, 2011, I found 2 eggs in the corner of their cage, on the floor of the cage. They did not like the nesting boxes I provided. That is about a month gestation.
