Maui is 6 hours earlier than NYC under daylight savings time. When daylight savings time is not effective in NYC then Maui is 5 hours earlier, since Hawaii does not go on daylight savings time.
Hawaii has it's own time zone "Hawaii Standard Time". Hawaii does not observe daylight saving time. HST is UTC -10, and is 2 hours earlier than Pacific Standard time and 3 hours earlier than Pacific Daylight Time
The Big Island of Hawaii is in the Hawaii-Aleutian Time Zone, which is 2 hours behind Pacific Standard Time (PST) and 5 hours behind Eastern Standard Time (EST) in the United States.
No, it is not the main island. The main island is O'ahu, probably because Honolulu is not only the capital of Hawaii, but it's on O'ah. But Hawaii and Maui are considered Maine islands as well. The flight to the state to Hawaii, if you live in a continent and not in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (besides Japan), it may be a very long flight and Hawaii is very expensive. The shortest flight available to the state of Hawaii if you do not live in the Pacific Ocean may be 5 in a half hours! But it can be eight hours, eleven hours, and so on.... It is about 2,500 miles away from California. Hawaii is also located near the equator, a very hot line. And it lies in the middle of the North Pacific. Hawaii is a beautiful place to visit and it is nice to take a vacation there, but not when there are Tsunamis and hurricanes. Thus, Hawaii is a nice place but can be dangerous!
Hawaii is 10 hours behind GMT - it is 03:45 there!
It would take around the 9 hours and 15 minutes.
Currently it is 8:02am in Hawaii which means it is 2:02pm in New York. There is no daylight savings time in Hawaii so while they are currently 6 hours behind NY, there are only 5 hours behind when you change your clocks. Hope this helps!
it opens 5 hours earlier
No. Hawaii has it's own time zone. We are two hours earlier than Pacific time and have no daylight savings. When time changes on the mainland to accomodate daylight savings Hawaii does not change time. Thus we are always either 2 or 3 hours earlier than California, depending on whether or not daylight savings is in effect elsewhere.
Maui is on Hawaii Standard Time. When the Mainland is on Daylight Savings Time, Maui is 3 hours earlier than the West Coast and 6 hours earlier than the East Coast. When the Mainland goes off Daylight Savings Time in the Fall, then Maui is only 2 hours earlier than the West Coast and 5 hours earlier than the East Coast.
About 5 hours, 15 minutes, depending on which island you fly to.
The time on Long Island in New York is always 5 hours earlier than the time in London.
