Christians in China 60 - 80 million. This is much higher than the figures officially released by the Chinese government and Three-Self Patriotic Movement, which are recognized by both Christian and non-Christian sources as being misleading.
Official figures dating from 2001 (source: Operation World) put it at 91 million. However, for a number of reasons, including double counting, this figure is regarded as unreliable.
Due to persecution, and obvious difficulties in counting a diverse house church movement, some put the true figures anywhere between 30 and 150 million.

OF COARSE, WHY NOT?
People who celebrate Christmas usually give presents, yes, but there are many people in China who do not celebrate the holiday because they are not Christians.
China probably has more Christians than any other country, because there are an estimated 70 million Christians in China, but that is in a country with a population of over 1 billion people, so it might not be the country with the largest PERCENTAGE of Christians. Many Christians are in Europe and North America, but I don't know the exact number.
It is not possible to know, with any accuracy, how many Christians are in the world, but the most common estimate is about 2.2-2.3 billion. One of the problems with this estimate is that it appears to include many people who live in "Christian countries" but are not Christians themselves. China is an example of another problem with many estimates: I have seen a conservative estimate of 11 million Christians in China and an optimistic one of over 60 million Christians; with some outlier estimates even higher, proving that we do not really know.
There are born-again Christians, Buddhists, atheists, and Muslims in China today.
The country with the most Christians on earth, at the present time, is China, estimates are around 60 to 75 million. It is only an estimate because many Christians in China attend "underground" or non-government approved churches.
Muslims, Christians, and Nigerians
