There are two man types of euthanasia: direct and indirect. There are three types of direct euthanasia which are voluntary, involuntary, and non-voluntary. Indirect would be someone killing his or herself by giving a doctor the permission to end their life when they are too sick to go on. This is legal in some states but illegal in most. Direct is when the nurse or doctor does the killing by injection of medication or some other way without the patient telling them to. Voluntary is when there is full knowledge that the patient wants to die but is incapable of doing so on their own. Involuntary is when does not want to die but the caregiver does it anyway. Non-voluntary is when it is unknown whether or not the patient wants to be euthanized but the caregiver goes ahead with it.
