Every outfitter varies, but O.A.R.S.' whitewater rafting trips (2011) cost anywhere between $1,796/person to $5,022/person for trip lengths of 4-16 days. It includes 2-person shared tents, (sometimes sleep kits too), transportation to the river and back, all food (catered camping) and related river equipment. There are many different sections that you can run in the canyon, and the dories (wooden-fiberglass boats) have a different schedule and pricing each season.
The Clintons' Whitewater scandal was not much of a scandal. The Whitewater scandal was just an investigation into a fail business deal that the Clintons had invested a lot of money into.
Danger is in the eye of the beholder. Millions of people whitewater raft without incident, however there is danger involved. There is also lots of misinformation out there concerning accident/fatality rates and rafting. Many of the statistics do not distinguish between commercially guided trips, and self guided trips. (Commercially guided has a much better record.) According to American Whitewater, statistically there is one death per 250,000 - 400,000 users days (1 day of the activity) for commercial rafting. According to the statistics I've seen, this is about twice as high as skiing, and half as high as cycling. Relative danger increases or decreases by: The fitness level of the participant, and their propensity to panic The difficulty of the river The temprature of the water The quality and presence of gear and safety equipment How accesable to EMS one is (i.e. roadside vs. wilderness) The level of the river (high water, medium, or low) -dd Pro River Guide Danger is in the eye of the beholder. I am a certified raft guide and an officer of a camping club at a university and we are legally considered a "commercial" organization (even though we are a non-profit organization) because we are considered an outfitter. And we can't raft without a license. Is there anyway around this? Our club can't afford the license and we already have the gear!
If you go on a guided raft tour the rates are about 20 to 25$ per person. Tubing is somewhat less and renting a canoe is more expensive.

Moab, UT is a great site to visit. Until the 1950’s Moab did not have much to offer. Charlie Steen discovered uranium there and the town has grown very quickly since that time. In Moab, UT there are numerous tours that one could take to see the sights. A few of those are Moad Adventure Center, Dan Mick’s Guided Jeep Tours, Highpoint Hummer and ATV Tours, and RIM Tours. Another popular sight in Moab, UT is the Sauropod Dinosaur Tracksite. This phenomenon is not a common occurrence. Usually while fossils and bones may be found, tracks are usually not. There are also water parks and theme parks as well as motorcycle tours. Another popular thing to do in Moab, UT is whitewater rafting. Tours are available using whitewater rafting or a person can rent a whitewater raft and take their own tour. Moab, UT is not a beautiful town but it hides many beautiful things below its surface.
