Geothermal energy is highly feasible in locations where it is available, such as Reykjavik, Iceland.
When buying a portable air conditioner, you should worry about how much energy in which they consume. Seen as they are DC, they will not consumer as much as say an AC air conditioner which is powered from the mains.
It has to use alot of energy
The latest food consumption survey conducted by the Food and Nutrition Institute in the Philippines reveal that mean per capita vegetable consumption per day is 110 grams or just about 40 kilograms per capita per year.
The average person consumes about 3,500 kilowatt-hours of energy in a year.
Incandescent light bulbs are not energy efficient, as much of the energy they use is converted into heat rather than light. Only about 10% of the energy they consume is actually turned into light.
According to Wikipedia article "List of countries by energy consumption per capita", the average energy usage per capita, in the USA, is 9538.8 watts, equivalent to about 301 GJ/year.Update: Sorry, the article is about total energy usage. Only a fraction of that is in the form of electricity.
Joules (energy) are not equivalent to Watts (power). If something converts 6 Joules every second, it is 6 Watts. If it takes ten seconds to convert 6 Joules, its power is 0.6 Watts.Multiply the Watts by the seconds to find the Joules.CommentYou do not 'consume' power. Power is simply a rate; you cannot consume a rate! You consume energy; the rate at which you consume it is power.
Geothermal power is a natural resource and can be used anywhere where it occurs. Iceland wasn't chosen to host hydrothermal energy its just a natural source there. Iceland has invested money into research in these fields because it's much cheaper for them to use this energy instead of importing fossil fuel.
Energy expenditure comes from day-to-day activities as well as your body keeping an internal temperature of about 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. Ideally, you will consume and expend and equal amount of energy. However, if you consume more than you need, your body will have too much energy, storing it as glycogen or fat. More energy must be expended than consumed in order to deplete these energy reserves.
