To get to Versailles Palace from Paris, you can take a train from Gare Montparnasse or Gare Saint Lazare to Versailles Chteau Rive Gauche station. From there, it's a short walk to the palace. Alternatively, you can take a bus or a taxi from Paris to Versailles.
Wikimedia lists at least three variations of the same scene as painted from two distinct perspectives by Monet around 1877: "Arrival of the Normandy Train, Gare Saint-Lazare," "The Gare Saint-Lazare: Arrival of a Train," and simply "Gare Saint-Lazare" or "Saint-Lazare Station."
From Gare du Nord to Saint-Lazare, the only direct liaison is the RER underground train, line E. Follow the signs for "RER E - Haussmann - Saint-Lazare'.

The RER is a Paris suburban train service. It does not go to Le Havre. You can go from CdG to Gare du Nord on the RER, from Gare du Nord to Gare Saint-Lazare on the metro, and from Saint-Lazare to Le Havre by train. The SNCF website will help you with this.

It's not on the metro. RER line C to Versailles Rive Gauche is most convenient. The station is 800 metres from the palace. There are also SNCF trains from Gare Montparnasse to Versailles Rive Gauche, and from Gare Saint-Lazare to Versailles Rive Droite. There's even a train to Versailles Chantiers, but that's even further away. The 171 bus from metro Pont de Sèvres goes to the palace itself.
