No in California you need a car to be 1975 or older
No, after the first 3 years of a car it needs to be smogged to register the car. I think the only exception to this is hybrid models. I have a hybrid that is 6 years old and never had been required to have a smog done.
This depends on where you live Where I am yes it exempt now
In CT USA it is exempt.
No. The seller is responsible for getting the car to pass smog. They must provide you with a smog cert. dated no more that 60 prior to the date of sale.
Yes if you have it registered in Ca
Yes, a dealer can sell you a car that will not pass a smog inspection, but they are typically required to disclose any known issues that could affect its emissions. In many states, such as California, dealers must provide a smog certification for used vehicles sold, unless the car is exempt or sold "as-is." If a car fails a smog inspection, the seller may be responsible for repairs, depending on local laws and the terms of the sale. Always check your local regulations for specific requirements and protections.
What do you mean smog a car? If car is sold "as is", buyer is responsible for all mandatory smog control equipment. If you mean pass a smog inspection, there are none in Iowa.
need help fix my car
It depends on where you live. In California you will not
It's the seller's responsibility
I thought the selling owner needs to smog vehicle before selling it- the new owner does not need to re-smog the car.
